When a global conglomerate starts to produce a film, they start off my thinking about the main aspects of a film. This includes budgets, camera equipment and famous actors. In wonder woman, warner brothers decided to set quite a high budget as it is the first ever wonder woman film. The budget for wonder woman was 150 million dollars wonder woman is quite a well-known character, so it was almost guaranteed to be a success. With the cameras used they were 35mm film cameras. These are quite expensive to use however for a big conglomerate like warner bros they can afford to run these expensive cameras. Not many film creators are able to afford to use 35mm film cameras as they are just too expensive. When you shoot on 35mm film it has a much clearer and more organic shot than digital cameras. This is used by big conglomerates, so it looks clearer on the big cinema screen. If you have a budget of 150 million dollars then it is obvious that you will have some sort of famous actors in it. In wonder woman they used David Thewlis who is famously known for playing a teacher in harry potter. Fame for a film is obviously only something you can go if you are a global conglomerate, however having fame doesn’t guarantee the success of the movie.

 

 

In high budget movies made by global conglomerates they have the freedom to film in multiple different countries and make it look magnificent to the eye through the shot. If you do not have a high budget flying over all of the crew and the equipment to different country’s will be very difficult. This is why lots of low budget films tend to stick to just one or two country’s. Special effects more specifically cgi is a very difficult thing to do if you are not a global conglomerate. This is because it is a very difficult job and it costs a lot of money to hire someone to do it to make it look really smooth. In wonder woman there are points where the cgi is done so well that it is hard to tell what is real and what is cgi. This is because of wonder woman is created by warner bros and they have the money to spend on things like cgi. Another key difference between a global conglomerate and a low budget film is the higher the budget the more extras and more of an atmosphere that they can create for the audience. In a scene in wonder woman they had about 500 extras. This would not be possible for a low budget film to hire 500 extras just for a scene.

 

 

Global conglomerates have a lot of influence and power so they can rewrite history for people who don’t know the truth. For example, in wonder woman an American saves the day. We all know that in world war 1 the Americans did not win the war for the brits however for dramatic purposes warner brothers were able to do this. If a small-scale film production company tried to rewrite history people would feel uncomfortable watching it as they don’t have a massive amount of power and influence on their audience as they don’t have a name behind them. Warner brothers also have to appeal their films to all sorts of audiences as they are in a mass market. This means that they need to have something for everyone in their films or they will not succeed as well as they could have done. With a global conglomerate they can get their film into many different countries and have many different ages watching their film.

 

In conclusion having a large global scale conglomerates name to you business makes it sufficiently better and easier for you to make a film due to the amount of money and power that gets pumped into each movie. This shows that if you want to make an excellent film like wonder woman you ned to have a lot of money and power
